The following are a few ideas I would like to see in a local house church:
1. A Gospel proclaiming, faith-filled, early New Testament church.
2. Using the King James Bible as our Standard.
3. No professional clergy. A return to the early church practice of a common body of believers taught by elders and pastors. Elders and pastors providing for themselves, not on the backs of the congregation.
4. Elders and pastors ordained through their local church body. Trained and raised for the purpose of spreading the Gospel in their community and ordaining willing members of the congregation.
5. Continuing education in the Word of God at all meetings. Bible study being key to educating the body of believers.
6. No tithing. Local churches collecting food clothing and money to help ease the suffering of the poor in the area. Money to be used entirely to aid the poor. No monies kept by the church. No exchange of money within the place of worship.
7. Size of congregation kept under 20 persons. When a church grows beyond 20 a meeting of church elders should convene to ask for volunteers from within its ranks to start a new congregation.
8. No standard church building. Public places and private homes used to conduct worship services and study.
9. Baptism and Holy Communion open to all believers in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
10. Each fellowship will end with Holy Communion and meal provided by members of the congregation.
11. Active evangelism in the community. Spreading the Gospel far and wide.
THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST REVEALS:
All are sinners and cannot do anything to save themselves. (Romans 3:23)
Jesus Christ, God's Son, is a perfect Savior for sinners, even the worst. (John 6:37-44; Hebrews 7:25)
Jesus Christ died for sinners, was buried, and rose again on the third day. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)
It is the power of God for salvation to all who believe. (Romans 1:16)
Salvation comes only through Jesus. (Acts 4:12)
Salvation is the gift of God by His grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ alone, and not by any works you do. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7)
Salvation comes through the blood of Christ, which makes the sinner righteous before God and brings reconciliation with Him. (Romans 3:25, 5: 9)
Salvation comes at the moment the sinner believes the gospel. (Romans 10:9-13; Ephesians 1:13-14)
Salvation is granted by God and secured by God. (John 10:27-30)
Jesus perfectly accomplished and completed all the works necessary to save sinners just like you. (John 19:30)
Salvation is completely of God and not of man in any way, and it is to the glory of God alone. (Romans 8:28-30; Romans 9; Ephesians 1)
